What is the purpose of STS?
STS is a non-profit organization devoted to promote Tamil language and culture. STS primarily conducts cultural programs thus enabling the community members to be engaged in a close knit.

How can I become a member of STS?
At this time there is no membership plan available for STS. But you can register yourself to the STS by subscribing yourself to the group Seattle Tamil Sangam. If you do not have Yahoo account you can email Public relations to join the group.

Events

Can I participate in the STS events?
There is a lot of demand for local talent. We need several participants for each program. STS encourages group performances, the more the number of participants in a group, higher the priority they get. The idea is to give equal chance for everyone.

Why I did not get a chance to participate in the event?
The Talent Bank works on a 'first come first serve basis'. Mostly due to high no. of particpants willing to contribute to STS events during this time, your request has been wait listed for the next available event.

What is the procedure to setup a Booth during STS event?
STS strongly encourages Charity, Non profit Organizations to set booth during the events, there are no fees collected for setting a booth from these type of Organizations. You will need to contact the Program Coordinator of specific events at least 2 weeks before the Event. The Program coordinator for a particular event can be verified by visiting the Upcoming Events website. For commercial organizations to set a booth during STS event, the charges are $50-$100 approx. depending on the location, which can be paid via a Check or Cash. To setup a booth you have to show up in the event location at least before 2 hours prior to the event start time.

Volunteer Information

Why are volunteers needed for STS events?
Being a non-profit organization, STS strives to keep the overhead costs minimal so that the tickets can be priced genuinely. Hence, STS will attempt to utilize volunteer service where ever possible to reduce the overheads.

What does STS need from volunteers?
STS requires commited and dedicated volunteers. It is important for volunteers to own the task and be responsible. The success of STS is directly proportional to the volunteer contribution.
