| Before you register your program, please read and accept the following rules and regulations that STS follows. Program Guidelines 1. A program has at least 5 participants. A Kids program has at least 8 participants. This is so that more people get opportunity to perform. A program with more participants will be given preference.
2. Average duration of a program is around 5 mins. There may be a few programs with longer duration, but 5 minutes is the average.
3. If there are more programs than slots, every registered coordinator gets just one slot.
4. If the program is of a different theme (like Magic Show, Bommalattam) they will be given preference.
5. Money spent on costumes, travel etc are the participants' responsibility.
6. Every participant and coordinator needs to buy a ticket for the event - this applies to all committee members, volunteers, parents. This is a community event, and everyone buying ticket helps cover expenses.
7. Seattle Tamil Sangam will try to decide on a mix of programs for this event – by age group, program type, time availability etc (Eg. not ALL programs are performed by adults, not ALL programs are dances). Tamil Sangam's decision in this regard is final (we don't claim to make the right decisions always – but we will try to be as fair and transparent as possible).
8. Each Program has a `Rehearsal Date'. This is NOT for micro managing every program. By the rehearsal meeting we expect the program to be in a reasonable shape. For example - all the program participants are identified (so that we can note their full names for the brochure), all requirements for the programs identified (Which song you are dancing for, What lighting/sound requirements you have), how much setup time you need, what's the duration etc.
9. If any program exceeds the duration planned, they will not be able to perform in future events.
10. If you don't get an opportunity for the previous event – we will automatically consider your program for the next event. Next time, preference will be given to these overflow registrations provided you have currently registered in STS website
11. Cancellation for any program has to be communicated in the first 2-3 weeks with a valid reason. If any program is cancelled (without any genuine reason), that group will not be given preference in the following year’s program. Please forward this information to anyone who may be interested !
